EXTRA SCOOP rounds up the winners at the 64th annual Golden Globe Awards, presented in Los Angeles on Monday evening, 15 January 2007.

The prizes were spread around a variety of titles, but British talent fared well.

The Queen

  • Helen Mirren – Best Actress (Drama). Dame Helen also took the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Film for her role as Elizabeth I.
  • Peter Morgan – Best Screenplay.

The Last King of Scotland

  • Forest Whittaker – Best Actor (Drama)

Babel

  • Best Film (Drama)

Dreamgirls

  • Best Film (Musical or Comedy)
  • Jennifer Hudson – Best Supporting Actress
  • Eddie Murphy – Best Supporting Actor

The Departed

  • Martin Scorsese – Best Director

The Devil Wears Prada

  • Meryl Streep – Best Actress (Musical or Comedy)

Borat

  • Sacha Baron Cohen – Best Actor (Musical or Comedy)

Letters from Iwo Jima

  • Best Foreign Language Film (Clint Eastwood)

Cars

  • Best Animated Film (John Lasseter)

Other British actors won Golden Globes for their performances in television dramas: Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, Hugh Laurie, Jeremy Irons. Congratulations to them all.
