Cinema Days Protocol
Purpose
Cinema Days are professional, working events. They are informal but intensive, with long days. As a unique platform for film distributors, the aim of Cinema Days is to furnish UK regional film journalists in all media with as wide a range of story/copy opportunities as possible. Attendance – entirely voluntary – is open to all UK regional film journalists, whether critics/reviewers, feature writers, student media, staff or freelance, and editors. A small number of film/cinema industry guests may also attend.
Accreditation
Cinema Days events are closed to the general public. All delegates must be accredited prior to each event and individually named accreditation badges must be worn at all times. Family/friends may not attend – unless in exceptional circumstances with prior permission.
Security
Delegates are advised that security procedures may be implemented during the events or on individual film presentations. Such measures are a standard part of pre-release security today and should be interpreted simply as a sign that Cinema Days events are taken seriously by the film industry. Mobile phones must not be used at any time during any screening.
Feedback
We welcome comments or suggestions, particularly concerning how Cinema Days could be made more productive or effective for you as a journalist/writer. Please use the feedback forms available at each event or at any time email: peter@cinemadays.com
Expenses
In addition to funding the events including catering throughout the working day, the Cinema Days organisers will endeavour to reimburse directly within 28 days as high as possible a proportion of the travel/accommodation expenses incurred by accredited journalists. Petrol expenses (with receipts) will be taken into consideration, but no mileage allowance is paid. Expenses claim forms are available at each event. Expenses are not paid to non-media delegates.
