About Cinema Days
Cinema Days are UK film industry trade events for regional journalists, at which film distributors preview their forthcoming releases and arrange press conferences with associated talent. Held three times a year over a four-day weekend, Cinema Days takes place at a modern, centrally located multiplex. Around 15 films are presented at every event.
Cinema Days are organised under the banner of the trade body, Film Distributors’ Association (FDA), and are funded largely by the distributors themselves.
Cinema Days’ purpose is to furnish UK regional film journalists in all media – print, online or broadcast – with as wide a range of copy/story opportunities as possible.
Ultimately, the aim is to help boost regional coverage of films and filmmakers and to raise general public awareness of the range of new releases. Approximately three-quarters of UK cinema admissions take place outside the London region and there is considerable scope for further growth. As professional, working events, Cinema Days are closed to the public. |
